First Love: Bitten

Back when I was a younger Liza, I was new to the world of paranormal and urban fantasy. Sure, as a teenager I read LJ Smith’s Vampire Diaries series, but when I was an adult, I stumbled across a copy of Kelley Armstrong’s Stolen, it felt like a whole new world had opened up to me.

I read Stolen in probably a single sitting, and then I had to go back and find Bitten. I loved Bitten even more than Stolen, and thus began my decade-long love affair with Kelley Armstrong’s writing.

At the time, she was also posting short stories and novellas from the Women of the Otherworld universe on her website, and I greedily read them–including a delicious prequel to Bitten. Years later, she published those stories in a collection called Men of the Otherworld.

Next week over on my personal blog, I’ll discuss how Season One the television series lives up to the novels.

Cover Reveal: Savage Yearning

Next month I’ll be launching a whole new series, the Corona Pride! Book 1, Savage Yearning, is the first in the series, and features Dristan and Laura, two side characters from one of the Sierra Pride books.

Here’s what it’s about:

When a one-night stand feels like so much more…

Mountain lion shifter Laura Vidal has been given two choices: leave the territory to find a mate, or become a guardian of the pride. Unwilling to leave the only home she’s ever known, Laura chooses the rigorous and bruising guardian training. Honestly, she’s glad for the training because it keeps her too busy to see Dristan, the guy who rocked her world during an amazing one-night stand.

Dristan Rhees can’t forget the girl who stole his heart after a single night of unbridled passion, despite the fact that she now won’t give him the time of day. But when vampires invade their territory, he and Laura are forced to work together. In order to defend their pride, they must confront the desire that still threatens to consume them.

And here’s the cover!

New Release: Savanna Bear

I’m so pleased to share with you the next and last book in the Hotel Safari series, Savanna Bear, which is available to buy as of today.

This book was so much fun to write because Megan was so much fun. When I first created her for Book 4, Broken Lynx, I loved her so much I knew I had to give her her own story. She just loves life and love and sex soooo much and is able to express and enjoy those parts of herself, which isn’t easy for all women.

Here’s the official blurb:

A grizzly doesn’t belong on the African savanna but can he find a place in a human’s heart?

As the Head of Marketing for a multinational hotel corporation based in London, free-spirited Megan Larch has seen her share of hotel rooms. She’s also seen—and loved—her share of men. Megan has a type, and the extremely large, extremely buff American at Hotel Safari isn’t it. While she’ll never turn up her nose at a good shag, she came to the lodge to visit old friends, not make new ones.

Xander Simpson is a bear shifter on the prowl for a new adventure. He quit his job in Minneapolis to try his hand at wildlife photography on the Kenyan savanna. The sexy British redhead doesn’t fit into his plans, but she stirs emotions in him he never expected from a human woman.

When Megan learns her friends have been hiding an age-old secret, can she overcome her feelings of betrayal and forgive them? Or will her guarded nature keep her from the one man who could finally convince her to settle down?

Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. So many of you responded positively to the launch of Book 5, Thai Rebound, that I hope you’ll give Megan and Xander a chance, too.

Love this review by a first-time reader!

This was my first Tori Knightwood book and I definitely enjoyed it. (In fact, I enjoyed it enough to start reading Night Spots as soon as I finished.) Being a huge fan of cat shifters, this book immediately drew my attention based on the cover alone and I’m so glad it did. It was a very quick read with a cute romance between Colin and Serena. I would recommend it to anybody else who is a fan of cat shifters, particularly big cats, and is looking for a read that is short but sweet.

Let’s Talk About Secrets of a Soprano

This lovely book was full of all my favorites: music, wittiness, and slow-burning romance. I’m a sucker for a good historical and even more of a sucker for the second-chance romance trope, so I went in already predisposed to like it.

Basically, the main character, Tessa, is a famous opera singer with a broken heart. Maximilian Hawthorne is an aristocrat who owns an opera house…and he also sports a broken heart. Turns out (and this is not a spoiler) they broke each others’ hearts!

Drama and angst and witty comebacks fly all over the place in a romance that is as sweet as it is seductive.

Release of Thai Rebound!

I’m so pleased to announce the release of the newest installment in the Hotel Safari series: Thai Rebound (Hotel Safari, Book 5).

Can an ice queen’s heart melt in the sultry heat of a Thai rebound?

Elizabeth Canterwell had closed herself off to love after Colin Kemboi rejected her. Now, she has run off to southern Thailand to forget him and possibly find pleasure in the arms of another. But she still has her place in London’s cutthroat social scene to consider.

Chon is a French-educated landscape architect employed by Hotel Safari Thailand. He is a Thai elephant shifter with the body of a fighter and the mind of an intellectual. He senses vulnerability in Elizabeth despite her refusal to entertain the idea of a relationship with the hired help.

Will he break down her walls to find her beauty within or are they each doomed to be alone?

Hope you enjoy Thai Rebound (or whichever of my books you’re up to). While this is Book 5, each book is a stand-alone romance, so you can read them in any order. I only recommend reading Book 1 first.

Cover Reveal: Thai Rebound

The next installment in the Hotel Safari series will release on January 10th and today I’m going to share its cover. Thai Rebound is the story of Elizabeth, Colin’s ex-girlfriend from Book 1, Pride of Africa. Elizabeth goes to Hotel Safari’s new property in southern Thailand to try to get over Colin and meets a local man, Chon, who was educated in France and is hiding a secret. Fans of the series will be able to guess the secret!

This one was especially fun for me to write because France is like a second home to me (just as it is for Chon) and elephants are my favorite animal. (Yup, Chon’s secret has to do with elephants.)

Since I’ve made you wait a really long time between installments, I’ve made an excerpt of Thai Rebound available via instaFreebie to tide you over until January 10th. Click here to download the exclusive excerpt (the book isn’t even available yet to pre-order from Amazon, and this excerpt is longer than what Amazon lets readers download for free as a sample). Enjoy!

And now, here’s the cover:
